Former US Sniper Made HUGE Announcement

The target was Charlie Kurt. There is no doubt in my mind this person uh is to some extent a professional. This was a professional hit. former US sniper made a huge announcement on Charlie Kirk's assassination, revealing key details about the shot and how the attack was carried out. >> Only information we have on on the suspect uh the possible shooter is taken from closed circuit TV here on campus. We do know uh dressed in in all all dark clothing. The shot came from here on campus um from a a location um at a fair roof >> uh potentially from a roof. Yes. At a longer distance from a roof. >> President Trump first reported the news on Truth Social. This is what he wrote. The great and even legendary Charlie Kirk is no one understood or had the heart of the youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by all, especially me. And now he is no longer with us. Melania, and my sympathies go out to his beautiful wife, Erica, and family. Charlie, we love you. We'll play his comments in a minute. Also, President Trump ordered all American flags to be flown at half staff now through 6 PM on Sunday. And tonight, the manhunt for the shooter continues after one subject was brought into custody but released after an interrogation with law enforcement. According to the FBI director, Cash Patel, I hope this individual is found swiftly, brought to justice, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Right now, a frantic manhunt is underway to find the assassin who killed Charlie Kirk on a college campus in Utah yesterday. >> Right now, a frantic manhunt to find who Charlie Kirk on a college campus in Utah yesterday. Two people were detained, but then they were ultimately released. >> Former FBI agent Stuart Kaplan joins us now. Uh Stuart, what can you tell us? This is what what they told us. Uh, no mention of what the person was, who he is, but or she is. Long rifle perched at top a building east on the school's library. Person wearing jeans, a black vest, a black mask. That's all we know. >> Law enforcement is is quite frankly scrambling right now to work backwards and try to identify first how this person gained access onto that rooftop. The FBI's biggest concern is that this was a targeted attack and that the same individual could have had the opportunity to inflict even more mass casualties. But what they do know and I think their biggest concern is this was a targeted attack. The target was Charlie Kurt. This same individual had the opportunity to inflict other mass casualties, but this person chose to maintain his or her discipline. They got up. They took the and then they got out of there. That indicates that there was a survey prior to yesterday where this individual had the lay of the land to understand how to get onto this rooftop and then how to very quietly escape undetected at this point. That is a very difficult task for the FBI and other law enforcement partners to work through to try to get some indication of who this person may be. Stuart, we all want this person to be caught. What is the FBI looking for? Because all we're hearing, like Brian said, person dressed in black. That's like every person. >> Well, there's a lot of information that I'm sure that the FBI has. For a way of example, we don't know whether or not the shooter left the weapon behind. We don't know whether or not a a shell casing, the the one bullet was discharged from the rifle. Was it a bolt action? If it was a bolt action, that means someone manually would have to discharge or eject that shell casing. Did they collect the shell casing? Have they sent it for fingerprint analysis or DNA analysis? Now, that can be turned around in a very short period of time. That hasn't been disclosed to us with respect to the weapon, the shell casing. And of course, today you're going to see an attempt to try to locate the bullet itself because the bullet obviously went through Charlie Kurt. It has to end up impa impaled somewhere. They're going to try to locate that. They're going to try to work backwards. You're going to see them out on this venue with lasers to try to set up some sort of forensic trajectory to see exactly how this person was perched and try to then identify a profile. Was there any active threat against Charlie Kurt that quite frankly is not known to the public and try to nail down if there are individuals that may be out there that they're aware of. There is a clear degree of expertise here. This person to some extent is a professional and investigators believe it was a calculated professional hit. >> Stuart, give me an idea of the level of skill a sniper had to have to be able to pull off that. >> Well, like I said, when you take a look at the altitude or the elevation of the way Charlie Kirk was seated, he had a tent over him. And so when you back up, let's say 450 feet, 500 feet, 600 feet, that becomes more and more difficult because you're looking down at that target. That is why I believe it wasn't quote unquote ahead. It was taken at the upper torso because the line of sight only exposed Charlie Kurt's upper torso area or the neck area. I think if the tent wasn't concealing Charlie Kirk's head, quite frankly, you would have seen this as a head. There is a degree of expertise. There is no doubt in my mind, this person uh is to some extent a professional. This was a professional hit. By all accounts, especially by the fact that he had an opportunity to discharge that weapon multiple times randomly, but he chose to stay on target. Stuart, how confident are you that they'll catch him? >> Well, let me tell you, the the the men and women of the FBI with their counterparts are the best in the world. I can tell you with having Cash Patel at the helm, the FBI, and I've spoken to several agents that are now on their way to Utah, you have the best of the best in the world on this planet who are going to work 24 hours a day. >> They're going to find this guy. The biggest concern is this individual has shown that he is not willing to engage law enforcement. He doesn't want to be apprehended. He doesn't want to be engaged in a shootout. This is a very very dangerous individual. The the threat level to public fe fig figures to include the president. As high as that threat level is has been elevated exponentially since yesterday. >> Stuart, you know, at first I thought, why would he wear black? Look at the buildings. But then I realized the roof is black. All right. And you we have footage at some point we'll show it of a guy walking around. We don't know if it's him on and we have a person commentating say what's that guy doing up there and the other question would be you got a black mask, you got a black vest, you need ammo, you have a rifle. Investigators warned the killer used a quickly concealable modular weapon. something you can break down and stash in seconds, making the trail cold and the hunt that much harder. >> Are there rifles, sniper rifles, highle sniper rifles that could separate like a pool stick and be able to put uh maybe into a into a vest pocket so you can walk out of a place without saying who's that guy with the gun? >> No question about it. You know, there are weapons that you can disassemble within seconds and and certainly again someone would have the proficiency to be able to do that. Keep in mind to then disassemble that weapon a very short time span, put it in a bag and extricate them off that rooftop. That is why quite frankly that weapon may have been left behind. We just don't know that. The FBI may be sitting on that information. They just don't want to publicly uh make that available to us. But again, it's more consistent with the proficiency and the expertise of this shooter. >> The news is coming in very fast now. Breaking news in the hunt for the in Utah. Brand new evidence now. Bill Malusian. Bill, tell us. >> Yeah, Harris, good morning to you. We heard earlier today that the FBI said they recovered that high-powered bolt-action rifle in a wooded area. Well, now several federal sources confirmed to Fox News that messages were found written on both the gun and the ammunition here, and those messages are currently being reviewed by investigators. We can't confirm what were in those messages, only that messages were found scrolled on both the gun and the ammunition that investigators have found, and that is under review right now. Uh that gun will be will be having what's known as an urgent trace by the ATF. Uh that is when they're going to try to find out where the gun was purchased, when it was purchased, what the possible chain of custody was. Keep in mind the FBI also announcing earlier this morning they found a partial palm print. They also found some footprints and they do have good surveillance video of the suspect. They just say they're not going to be releasing that video right now. They say those images show that person, whoever it is, jumping off a building and running off into a neighborhood. And that person appears to be college-aged. Uh but again, Harris, multiple federal sources telling Fox News that messages of some kind were found written on both the gun and the ammo and investigators right now looking at those messages as here we are about 20 hours after this and still no suspect in custody just yet, but it sounds like uh investigators are hot on this person's trail. We have live team coverage with reaction coming from our nation's capital, including the latest from the president. >> Yeah, we've talked to a number of people who were at the event today with Charlie Kirk and Max Stanley is one of them. He is a pitcher for the UVU baseball team. Uh where were you in relation to Charlie Kirk? >> Yeah, I was more towards the back left of the uh courtyard kind of looking left side towards his uh his tent. So, >> and what did you see? >> I saw, you know, at one moment me and my buddy was having a good time just listening to what was going on and then we just saw we heard a loud shot, a loud bang and then I saw his body actually in slow motion kind of fall over. So, um, >> there were others who said that they saw on his neck. Did you see that? >> I think we were a little too far up for me to see blood, but I did see his body looked sort of lifeless going down. >> And when that happened, then what was the next thing that you witnessed? >> There were people just rushing. I was doing all I could to to help him out. Get him out. Get him out. And uh yeah, just uh just bodies everywhere. >> Was Was there anyone rushing the stage to to help Charlie Kirk? My focus wasn't really on the stage. It was more on >> You were worried about getting people out? >> Yes, sir. >> The eyewitness claims it happened fast. Charlie was sharing his opinion about mass shootings and campus gun violence when the attack unfolded. >> You said Charlie Kirk was speaking. You were about 30 uh 30 feet behind you. >> Yeah. So, they had the underpass and then there was some cars parked that was taped off area. I was just standing right behind the taped off area to try to listen better cuz I just wanted to hear what >> did you hear anything that was going on? >> Yeah, I could hear what was being said but it was Yeah. Yeah, it happened pretty quick. >> Was there was was the question as it's been described to us so far something about mash? >> Yeah, I didn't really like hear that question. I kind of came in a little late so I heard the question before it but um from what I like understand it was about like I do know a question was asked about on campus in gun violence. >> The situation room and the national security adviser are actively engaged in monitoring the situation, treating it as a matter of national security. >> I just got this from a White House official. I'm told the situation room and the national security adviser, um, Marco Rubio, who's also serving as the secretary of state, are both actively engaged. Uh they're monitoring this situation and they are in contact with state officials. So you've got the situation room here and Rubio uh looking actively into what is going on, receiving updates and uh I've also inquired anything they know about the suspect or his condition. I haven't heard anything on that yet. Uh but I did go up to Upper Press immediately when this news broke to see if anything was coming out on this and I was told that it had just happened and everyone was in the Oval Office. I was told we'd have an update soon from the president and he did put that out. He posted on Truth Social, "We must all pray for Charlie Kirk who has been a great guy from top to bottom. God bless him." Now remember, Charlie Kirk, who leads Turning Point USA, did a lot of work in support of the president's re-election campaign. Turning Point USA obviously engages young voters, um, conservative voters, and President Trump in this election, uh, really turned the tide among that demographic, which is historically, um, an unreliable voting block, and turned out young voters. Charlie Kirk played a huge role in that. Uh, he was active in support of the president on the campaign trail and is obviously beloved by a lot of people here. We've seen well wishes coming out from everybody from the president to the vice president, the uh secretary of press secretary Caroline Levit. Everyone here just awaiting updates on his condition uh and also looking into actively who perpetrated this. So we'll bring you any other news that we have, but the breaking news from here is that uh the situation room and the national security adviser are monitoring this. People scattered in panic the moment the shot rang out. Screams echoed, chairs toppled, and the crowd rushed for exits as chaos consumed the room. >> The video that you're seeing right now on the right hand side of your screen is people scattering uh which is understandable after this rang out. We're told that it was one, but of course that is something that could change as we get more information on this too. But you can see the perspective here. I mean it's just chilling really. I mean, you watch all these people um spreading out and because, you know, we've had so many of these sorts of incidents and um people see, you know, school and the like, this feels like something different. This feels like a very targeted attack in this case, but the scattering is what you would expect as people run for shelter and safety in this situation. Um Pam Bondi, as you can see on the bottom of your screen about this, the attorney general of the United States saying that FBI agents are on the way. You can bet that this entire area will be secured as they begin an investigation into the direction of this bullet, where it was fired from. Uh and obviously as we continue to get information on this suspect, which we're told suspect in is in custody, we can assume at this point that this person is alive. That that's what we're reporting at this moment. Uh we don't have any reason to think anything other than that. Uh there are some videos of someone being taken down uh to the ground by police. We don't know if those are accurate or if those were, you know, someone in the crowd or indeed the person who uh who pulled the trigger in this horrific and tragic of Charlie Kirk. Now on that breaking news out of the US where conservative commentator Charlie Kirk has been and while speaking at a university in Utah to discuss, former White House staffer Laura Schwarz joins us live now from Chicago. It looks as if the shot came from nearly 200 yd away. But with limited security at the public event, chaos broke out and so far no suspect has been taken into custody. >> Laura, this is utterly shocking. We're still learning details about exactly what happened, but what can you tell us so far about this assassination? >> Well, this actual moment occurred on campus while Charlie Cook was speaking at what he's calling the America Comeback Tour. He's going to 14 different college campuses throughout the United States. His organization that he founded, Turning Point USA, has about 850 campus chapters. So, he's often on university and college campuses. He was there kicking off this program. And it looks as if this came from 200 yards away. It was a public event with limited security. It wasn't a presidential level event by any means. And because of that, at this moment, they do not have a suspect in custody. The regional FBI offices are working together, both within Utah and the surrounding states, as well as a hostage team being readied up and sent from Quantico in Virginia in case this turns into a hostage sort of situation when they can track them down. Right now, they're looking at social media. They're asking questions and they're hoping that somebody had a camera somewhere outside of this purview that maybe they caught something, maybe they can find a lead. I mean, Laura, it doesn't matter what side of politics you sit on, right? This is clearly divisive. This is a young man, a 31-year-old, two children that's been in broad daylight. You can see the masses there who went to watch him, to listen to what he had to say, and then it ends in an assassination. And this is the biggest concern when it comes to in America and it's unfolding before our very eyes. >> It is and and this is a targeted attack against a leader of a movement. Whether you agreed with the movement or not, Donald Trump Jr. has called him a mega rockar of the movement, a leader of the movement. Charlie Kirk and Turning Point USA, again, like him or not, for the policies they represent, motiv motivated Gen Z voters to get out and vote for Donald Trump. He made a huge impact in that last election. He spoke on night one of the Republican National Convention in 2024 and he's been aligned with Donald Trump the entire way. In fact, even when Donald Trump Jr. went over to Greenland before Trump was inaugurated for a second time to talk about, you know, buying up Greenland, Charlie Cook was with him. So, he's very prominent on the scenes both as the White House as an informal adviser and someone really putting this movement together. And just very quickly, Laura, Laura, this is about this is going to start a political firestorm. There's no doubt about it. >> Mhm. It is. It is. And what I am happy to see about the reaction is that Democrats and Republicans alike, Kla Harris and Donald Trump alike are saying this is not right. I will be looking Sarah to see if this tones down the vitriol from both sides, you know, from whether it's a meme on social media coming from True Social or it's a conversation at a town hall. This shouldn't be happening. I think we can make political movements without political discourse uh resulting in assassination attempts and and and vitriol.
